Some people want to change their cell phone carriers and move to another one but they feel discouraged to do that due to the process of moving to another carrier, which had been said before it’s long, costly and doesn’t worth it!.

But the truth is moving to another carrier is much easier than you may ever think, it’s just cell phone carriers who try to make it looks hard for you to keep you around.

This article will answer the question “ How to move to another cell phone carrier “ even if you’re during your contract period and how to get your new cell phone plan quite fast.

When you should move to another cell phone carrier ?

the theory behind signing a long-term contract with wireless carrier is that you get highly discounted cell phone and you exchange it with the long term commitment, so if you’re asking yourself whether it’s time to move on and change your cell phone carrier or not, you first have to be sure that you’re moving for the good and your next carrier is much better than your current one.

People leave their cell phone carriers due to one of these reasons :-

1. Bad coverage
2 . Lame offers
3 . Bad Customer Service
4 . High fees

so set your mind right before you decide which network you’re going to make it as your next move, as most of them share the same pros and cons, but the slight difference between them will always be there and you’ll have to find it yourself.

Move Your Cell Phone From Carrier To Another in Steps :-

1. Early Termination Fees : at anytime on your contract you decided that you want to move to another cell phone carrier and make the switch, you can do that by paying the ” ETF ” early termination fees and it vary from one network to another and it also depends on the time remaining in your contract, so you’ll have to contact your cell phone plan provider and ask for the termination fees estimation.

2. Your New Carrier : after getting your “ETF” estimation and paying your last bill including the termination fees you’ll receive a statement of cancellation and you’ll be able to contact your new cell phone carrier and move your cell phone to it.

Some carriers offers paying your “ETF” early termination fees as they will buy you in with paying you out of your current carrier and here it’s in more details :-

Verizon : they don’t pay your early termination fees but they offer to you $300 to use in trading your old cell phone, and you can check your eligibility to move your cell phone to their network from here .

AT&T : they won’t buy you out from your current provider, but they will give you up to $650 as a prepaid credit card, based on your termination fees with your current network, it’s easy and simple firstly you’ll port your number and trade your old cell phone with a new one, secondly you’ll receive your last bill from you current provider and after paying it you’ll be able to fill out this form and complete your move .

Sprint : they will pay all of your termination fees in order to have you on board as they say that you’ll be able to switch your wireless carrier without giving up your existing number but first you’ll have to check your eligibility from here

T-Mobile : they will pay you out from your current carrier and you’ll be able to trade your old cell phone with new one from T-Mobile without changing your cell phone number.

Now let’s summarize the whole process in few words, moving to another carrier or cell phone plan provider isn’t a myth or a hard process, it’s just about choosing the right carrier that suits your needs and then follow the steps mentioned down there.

– Sign up with your new carrier ( plug your phone number )
– Get your new cell phone and replace your old one
– Receive and pay your last bill with your current provider
– Receive your early termination fees as a gift prepaid card from the new carrier.
